Seize the Day was born during 1996, when Theo and Shannon began playing together at the site of the Newbury Bypass in Southern England.  Since then they have added a few members and lost some too, but they have developed a strong folk sound and a huge following. You can see them perform by clicking here or even better by buying a ticket from John Thomas Florists [01694 722194] or Burway Books [01694 723388] in Stretton and watching them perform live and unplugged at Rushbury Village Hall on Saturday 4 July at 7.30pm. You can also get tickets by emailing us or ringing us on 07528 493181 and asking for Julie. Sorry, no PayPal or credit cards yet, we’re afraid; we’re just not that big an operation.

STOP PRESS - WE’VE ALSO GOT EMMA AND THE PROFESSOR! Click here

Emma and the Professor

We’re delighted that local duo Emma and the Professor will be joining us as a support act.  Bishops Castle based, they have performed for many years at Shrewsbury Folk Festival and all over the place with a really neat sound.  Don’t be late, or you’ll miss them!

HOW DO YOU GET TO RUSHBURY VILLAGE HALL?

It’s on the main road from Church Stretton to Much Wenlock, just past the Plough at Wall under Heywood. It’s called Wall Hall on the map (don’t ask…) Click here for a map link

A must do evening for your diary. Seize the Day are one of the countries leading Folk Groups with an environmental conscience -I heard them last year - real cutting edge stuff. Some of them have pledged never to fly again to help reduce their carbon footprint.
Tickets available from Wed. 6th May. Don’t delay in getting yours.

Church Stretton is pretty much summed up by Seize the Day’s video ‘Flying’. Click on the link and watch it. It’s not an angry song; it’s alternately poignant and ironic but it’s so uncomfortably true for this little town of ours, even to its last lyrics (’Doesn’t anybody get a break these days?’) that you think they must have been studying us for years. I can’t wait to hear them live.
